Aims and Scope:
Chronic pain is currently a public health problem. The most recommended treatment and with the best evidence is based on physical measures. Not only physical therapies, but hygienic-dietary measures are increasingly important in the treatment of this pathology.
Research scientific interest in nutrition and chronic pain has increased considerably over the last 5 to 10 years, with an explosion of research articles (jumping from barely 10 publications per year prior to 2010 to, presumably, more than 100 in 2022). Even though, there has been a lot of emphasis on physical therapies and little on how diet affects people with chronic pain.
In order to contribute to this new exciting field, the Journal of Pharmacy and Nutritional Sciences is looking for advances and perspectives on how diet can negatively or positively influence chronic pain to be published in a special issue. This special issue will any original research or reviews that can bring new insights into chronic pain and nutrition, including, but not limited to:
- Natural nutritional pain killers,
- Prevention of chronic pain with diet,
- Nutritional aspects that can enhance pain.
It is my pleasure to invite you, as an expert in this field, to contribute to this special Issue of JPANS on Chronic Pain and Nutrition by submission of original research or reviews on a related topic. I hope this opportunity will be of your utmost interest and look forward to your active participation.
